What we teach

Lessons

One-to-one teaching for children and adults, from the very first lesson through to conservatory preparation. Lessons run for 30, 45 or 60 minutes — most students settle on 45.

Teacher · Jaime Arsenio Gómez Pomar

Violin

Jaime started the violin as a child with his grandfather and has been teaching since his conservatory years. Lessons build technique and sound in parallel with repertoire you actually want to play — never one at the expense of the other.

Who it’s for
Children from about six, teenagers, and adults — complete beginners as well as advanced players preparing auditions or exams.
Formats
  • 30 minutes — younger children and first steps
  • 45 minutes — the usual choice
  • 60 minutes — advanced work and audition preparation
Languages
Spanish, English and Catalan. Dutch on request — ask us.

Teacher · Lucía Pérez Dezcallar

Cello

Lucía teaches cello with an emphasis on a relaxed, healthy setup: how you sit, how you hold the bow, how the sound opens up. From there, repertoire from the first pieces to the standard concertos.

Children from about seven, teenagers, and adults — including those coming back to the instrument after years away.

Instrumentalists of any instrument, singers, and students preparing conservatory or school music exams.

Teacher · Jaime Arsenio Gómez Pomar

Instrument tuning & setup

Bring your instrument and we will tune it, fit new strings if you need them, and check that the bridge and soundpost are standing where they should. If something needs a real luthier, we will tell you plainly and point you to one in Rotterdam.

Who it’s for
Violin, viola and cello players. Useful before an exam, a concert, or at the start of a season.
Formats
  • About 25 minutes, by appointment
  • Strings charged separately at cost
Languages
Spanish, English and Catalan. Dutch on request — ask us.
